Engineered specifically for the low-end frequencies, the MXR M282 Dyna Comp Bass Compressor tightly focuses your bass guitar signal while preserving your inherent groove.
This essential dynamic tool ensures that every pluck, pop, and slap resonates with a consistent, punchy output, completely smoothing over erratic volume spikes without squashing your natural feel.
The dedicated clean blend retains your uncompressed foundational tone, while the attack control allows precise shaping of your initial transient response. As a result, your basslines sit perfectly within any mix, delivering a commanding, studio-quality presence and an incredibly balanced, tactile playing experience onstage.
The MXR M282 Dyna Comp Bass Compressor Effects Pedal brings the legendary squash of a classic circuit directly into the modern bassist’s toolkit. By integrating an intuitive clean blend control, this pedal guarantees your fundamental low-end frequencies and dynamic nuances remain entirely intact while adding unparalleled sustain to your overall sound.
The dedicated tone knob easily shapes your upper harmonics, helping aggressive fingerstyle playing or percussive slap techniques cut through dense mixes with clarity. An additional attack switch allows you to toggle between a fast, vintage-style grab and a slower response, maximizing your instrument’s rhythmic feel.
DESCRIPTION:
The Dyna Comp Bass Compressor delivers the most iconic compression sound in music history, tweaked and tuned just for bass players. Built around the classic CA3080 “metal can” integrated circuit for its quiet operation, superior transparency, and increased dynamic range, this pedal comes with all the controls you need to shape your compressed sound in no time at all.
The heroes of the Dyna Comp Bass Compressor’s interface are the Clean and Tone controls. The Clean control lets you add in your unaffected bass signal so that you can maintain low end integrity, while the Tone control adjusts the upper midrange to retain the tonal dynamics of your bass.
Familiar Output and Sensitivity controls set volume level and the length of sustain, while the Attack switch toggles between a vintage style slow attack time and a modern style fast attack time.
And you know what? It all comes in an MXR mini housing, so making room for it on your pedalboard will be a cinch.
This pedal can be powered by a Dunlop ECB003 9-volt adapter, or the DC Brick™, Iso-Brick™, and Mini Iso-Brick™ power supplies (not included).
