Description
The Yamaha Pacifica PAC012 is a foundational solid-body electric guitar, engineered specifically to provide beginners with a structurally sound and reliable learning platform. Manufactured with a solid agathis body and a bolt-on maple neck, it establishes a balanced, resonant acoustic foundation that translates clearly through smaller practice amplifiers. Within Yamaha’s extensive catalog, the PAC012 serves as the most accessible entry point to the Pacifica lineage, omitting premium cosmetic appointments to maintain an approachable price point without compromising mechanical stability or precise fretwork.
Its primary real-world application is foundational education; it is built to withstand the rigors of daily practice, high school music programs, and early band rehearsals. By offering a versatile HSS (Humbucker-Single-Single) pickup configuration, the instrument allows advancing students to experiment across multiple musical genres—from clean jazz progressions to overdriven rock riffs—without requiring immediate equipment upgrades as their technical proficiency develops.
Who Is This For?:
This instrument is designed explicitly for absolute beginners and budget-conscious students. It profoundly benefits learners who require a mechanically stable, properly intonated guitar that stays in tune during daily practice sessions, ensuring that poor hardware does not impede their early technical development and overall enthusiasm for the instrument.
Key Features:
Solid Agathis Body Construction
Utilizing solid agathis provides a robust, resonant acoustic foundation that mimics the mid-range punch of traditional tonewoods like alder or basswood. For the student, this ensures that the guitar projects a full, articulate tone even when played unamplified in a quiet bedroom setting, allowing them to hear their mistakes clearly and adjust their technique.
HSS Pickup Configuration
Featuring two ceramic single-coil pickups and one bridge humbucker, this electronic layout offers maximum tonal variety. This allows the player to seamlessly transition from bright, biting funk rhythms on the bridge to warm, rounded blues tones on the neck, effectively covering essential genres with a single 5-way switch.
Vintage Tremolo System
The traditional six-point vibrato bridge enables pitch modulation for expressive playing and surf-rock effects. It is engineered with robust springs and saddles, allowing beginners to learn proper whammy bar technique without causing immediate tuning instability or requiring constant mid-song tuning adjustments.
