TANGLEWOOD STRADA TS5 DREADNOUGHT ACOUSTIC GUITAR

Description

The Tanglewood TS5 Strada is a robust, full-sized dreadnought acoustic guitar engineered to generate substantial volume and deep, resonant low-end frequencies. Serving as a cornerstone model within the Strada series, this instrument relies on the time-tested dreadnought architecture to provide maximum acoustic projection without the need for artificial amplification. The broad shoulders and deep internal cavity work sequentially to push significant amounts of air, resulting in a commanding sonic presence that easily cuts through an unamplified acoustic ensemble.

Featuring a traditional non-cutaway design, the TS5 maximizes the vibrating surface area of its natural-finished top, ensuring exceptional sustain and a rich harmonic overtone profile. Its primary real-world application is in flatpicking, aggressive rhythmic strumming, and bluegrass sessions where raw acoustic volume and authoritative bass response are absolute necessities for the player.

Who Is This For?

This guitar is the definitive choice for heavy strummers, traditional folk musicians, and singer-songwriters who rely on a strong acoustic foundation to support their vocals. The expansive dreadnought dimensions make it ideal for adult players who want maximum acoustic output and a thick, percussive rhythmic response during unamplified collaborative performances or solo acoustic gigs.

Key Features:

Dreadnought Cavity and Bass Response

The defining characteristic of the TS5 is its large internal dreadnought chamber, which drastically amplifies low-frequency energy compared to smaller body shapes. This acoustic architecture provides a thick, driving rhythm tone that acts as a percussive anchor in a band setting. When struck with a heavy flatpick, the soundboard flexes to produce a booming, authoritative sound that maintains its clarity even under intense physical playing dynamics.

Uninterrupted Soundboard Integrity

Designed purely as an acoustic instrument, this model features no side-mounted preamps or cutaway modifications that would otherwise remove valuable resonating mass from the guitar. This full-body construction guarantees that the maximum amount of structural wood is actively participating in tone generation. The result is a highly resonant, sustained decay that allows ringing chords to fade naturally, rather than decaying abruptly due to structural compromises.

Ergonomic Neck and String Action

Despite its imposing body size, the neck profile is carved to facilitate fast chord transitions and comfortable thumb placement. The fretboard radius and factory action height are calibrated to allow for aggressive strumming without excessive string buzz, while remaining low enough to prevent hand fatigue during complex barre chord progressions. The standard enclosed tuners securely hold string tension, ensuring the instrument remains in tune throughout rigorous performance sessions.
